Coach Taylor Redd will take the reigns of BYU’s offense this year. Redd, who began playing lacrosse at the age of 10 in Northern Virginia, had a successful high-school career as a 4-year starter and 3 year captain at Utica Eisenhower in Michigan. Redd was also a 4-year starter for BYU, captain of the team and earned All-Conference recognition his senior year. Redd has been coaching for 7 years and is entering his second year on the BYU coaching staff.
Taylor began his High School coaching career in 2011 with Bingham High School (South Jordan, UT) as the Defensive Coordinator. He coached the Miners for two years before holding the same position at St. Stephen's Episcopal School (Austin, TX). In 2015, he returned to Utah and began coaching at Timpview High School as a Defensive Assistant before becoming the Head Coach for the Thunderbirds in 2016. In 2017, Taylor joined the BYU coaching staff as the Co-Defensive Coordinator, focusing primarily on defensive midfields and LSMs. He returns to the BYU coaching staff in 2018 as the Offensive Coordinator.
Outside of lacrosse, Taylor works at Adobe Systems as a Data Scientist and as an Adjunct Statistics Professor at BYU. He is married to Catherine Redd and has one son, Declan, and a dog, Winston.
