BYU Men’s Lacrosse to take on Grand Canyon University on BYU South Field
Provo Ut – Our BYU Cougars will be playing against the defending MCLA National Champions the Grand Canyon Lopes this Friday, March 25th at 7pm. It will be held down on BYU’s South Field Stadium located just south of the Smith Fieldhouse.
This will be one of the best lacrosse games to watch in Utah this season, featuring two of the top ranked teams in the MCLA with one of the best venues BYU has to offer. We talked to Defensive Coach Chanda Mofu about the Cougars defense:
BYU: How has the BYU defense performed so far this season?
Mofu: The BYU defense has played pretty well this season. There have been some differences because of coaching philosophies, but the tenets of the defense remain the same: tempo, audacity, and athleticism. That's what's kept this team giving up only 1 double digit game to the number one team in the country.
BYU: What are the keys for the defense to be successful against the tough GCU offense?
Mofu: The key to beating GCUs offense is remaining patient, being physical removing the ball from the man, and forcing low percentage shots.
If we can do those three things, we will be the victors of this important game.
Tickets for the game can be purchased online at BYULacrosse.com or at the gate at North University Lacrosse Field. You can also follow us on twitter @BYULacrosse for consistent game updates.
